A Note From Your Publisher {6/18}

By Laurie Corbett, Publisher, Macaroni Kid South Shore Boston June 17, 2020

Has anyone else been singing Alice Cooper a lot this week? If you have no idea what I'm talking about Google "school's out for the summer". Go ahead, I'll wait. It has been stuck in my head all week - sorry if it's now stuck in yours. My kids think I'm crazy when I start singing it but for as much as I love our teachers and school, and we hung in there with distance learning, I'm so very glad it is over and we all have a small reprieve.

With the nicer weather, I am working hard to stay up to date on safe options for family fun across the South Shore this summer.  Our South Shore Playground Guide is back and will be updated weekly with which community playgrounds have re-opened. Please remember that while playgrounds are allowed to re-open some towns are still working on re-opening them safely. Respect each town's rules, policies, and regulations around their playgrounds and use them safely. I have also updated our Splash Guide with some new updates on venues that have announced they are working to re-open and removed a few who sadly will not be open this summer. On the site, there are options for bike riding, picnic hikes, questing, ice cream spots, and summer reading programs. Coming soon are Google maps for many of these articles, summer bucket list ideas, outdoor movies, updated summer camp information, and so much more!

It may not be a typical summer but I will do all I can to continue to bring you tons of options for family fun right here on the South Shore all summer long!
