A Note From Your Publisher {6/11}

By Laurie Corbett, Publisher, Macaroni Kid South Shore Boston June 11, 2020

Hello! My apologies for the delay this morning. For those who haven't realized it, our newsletter comes out every Thursday at 5 am, but last night our website was slow to due problems with a vendor. Since the newsletter goes out before I begin work on Thursdays I was not going to be able to verify that the site wonkiness was worked out and decided to delay today's newsletter by a few hours so I could confirm everything was working well and you would be able to access everything in today's newsletter without frustration.

Everything seems to be working well this morning, but if you do experience slowness please be patient and try again in a bit. Your readership means everything to my small business and I am working hard to continue to support our community through this site and newsletter. If there is some type of local information that would help support your family right now please let me know!

This week we launched a new South Shore Black-Owned Business Guide in collaboration with Macaroni Kid Weymouth, Macaroni Kid Bridgewater-Brockton, and Macaroni Kid Plymouth in a collaborative effort to support and showcase Black-owned businesses from Braintree to Bourne. While we usually remain hyper-local here at Macaroni Kid this was one place where we felt the need to come together was important. We will continue to update it as businesses choose to opt-in.

I am also working on updating our South Shore Playground Guide as playgrounds being to re-open and our annual summer reading program list. Over the next few days, I will be updating our Ice Cream and Public Libraries guides with information that has changed since they launched a few weeks ago too. In addition, I am adding Google maps to many of our guides! I also recently updated our family-friendly South Shore bike trails article and will be adding photos soon.  I would love to hear from our readers on other things that might be helpful. More hiking and trails information from our friends at South Shore Trails or NSRWA? Town specific social distancing adventure ideas? Something else? My goal is to be the first place you turn for family-fun on the South Shore so please don't hesitate to reach out with ideas or suggestions!

Happy Thursday!
