By Laurie Corbett, Publisher, Macaroni Kid South Shore Boston June 27, 2019

Happy 4th of July! Okay, so I know Independence Day is still a week away, but our next newsletter doesn't go out until the 4th and I didn't want to miss the chance to wish you well. I hope you have a day filled with family, friends, fun and a few moments to remember why we celebrate. Looking for a holiday related craft to keep the kids busy this week? Check out Festive Stuffed Strawberries, Fireworks Cookies, and Q-tip Fireworks from our archives. Wondering where to find a parade or other local celebration? They are right here on our calendar

Plus, there are a ton of great, local events going on this weekend. Our top picks are Liberty Pole Day at the Alden House in Duxbury where you can head back in time to the American Revolution for an encampment and living history day, the Free Safari Matinee at Mass Audubon North River Sanctuary in Marshfield where you can explore nature, or one of three concerts Sunday evening - Bright Lights at Paragon Boardwalk in Hull featuring young musicians,  Sunday Concert Series at the Pavillion kicking off it's summer season in Hanover with The 781 Band, and the Abington Summer Concert Series gets underway this weekend with The Brass Kickin' Horns. But we don't assume to know what's right for your family so make sure to check out the other 17 events on our calendar this weekend to make sure you find the best choices for family fun for your family! Overwhelmed? Use our search functions to narrow down the events.

Don't miss the latest addition to our South Shore Summer Camp and Programs Guide - Rise Above Basketball Camps! Happening in July and August if you have a basketball lover in your house you will want to check out this great program.

See you next week!
