South Shore Art Center Arts Festival

June 15-17, 2018 on Cohasset Common

By South Shore Art Center May 17, 2018

South Shore Art Center (SSAC) presents the 63rd Annual Arts Festival on Cohasset Common. This much-anticipated festival kicks off summer in the South Shore with non-stop art and entertainment throughout Father’s Day Weekend: June 15-17, 2018.

For over 60 years, Cohasset’s historic town green has been the site of South Shore Art Center’s annual arts festival, attracting over 12,000 guests. For three days each June, the Town Common transforms into a hub of arts activity with booth upon booth of craft vendors, a pulsing soundstage and a huge marquee housing multiple art exhibitions. The festival is open to the public, with a suggested $5 donation.

Hours of operation:

  • Friday, 1 pm - 7 pm
  • Saturday, 10 am - 7 pm
  • Sunday, noon - 5 pm

SSAC will herald in Festival with a special gala Preview Party, Behind the Lens: Making Movies in MA. This event will celebrate film arts and films produced here in Massachusetts. Featured guests for the evening include some of the creative trust behind the new Amy Schumer hit, I Feel Pretty: set photographer Mark Shafer and executive producer Dominic Rustam. Candid stills from the set of I Feel Pretty will be on exhibit – and on sale! – and there will opportunities to hear our guests share behind-the-scenes stories from sets like these.

Special attractions for Arts Festival 2018 include:

  • Juried Art Exhibition, Members’ Show and Tent Talks in the Main Tent
  • KidsTent featuring a Young Artists’ Exhibition and interactive art-making activities
  • 90+ juried craft exhibitor booths encircling the green with exquisite jewelry, home and garden products, hand-made clothing, ceramics, fine art and photography.
  • Non-stop performances on the soundstage from Ballet Rox to jazz to rock-n-roll.

Parking in Cohasset Village and satellite parking at South Shore Music Circus on Sohier Street – a trolley will shuttle visitors from satellite parking to the historic Cohasset Common.
