Our friends at Crow's Landing, in Hingham, have been asking us to come visit them for a meal for over a year now and for most of that year, I have been asking the same of our Macaroni Dad. A few times he looked at the menu online and we decided to go somewhere else. That was where we made our first mistake. I never looked at the menu myself and since he's the pickiest eater in our family I usually defer to him on restaurant decisions. If I had looked at the menu myself I would have noticed their attention to quality comfort food that is made without being deep fried. The kitchen doesn't have a deep fryer and comfort food like their Parmesan cheese, roasted garlic and bacon topped Crow Fries are cooked in a specialty oven that gives the food flavor without added fat. Definitely signs of somewhere we should check out.
A few weeks ago I asked Macaroni Dad again if we could check out Crow's Landing and he said we could go on a night Nate Watkins was playing. If you have don't follow Nate's performance schedule as closely as Macaroni Dad does he's a local dad and solo acoustic entertainer - and he's great! Nate plays at Crow's Landing on a regular basis so we decided to find a sitter and headed out on a date night last week. That's where we made our second mistake. While Crow's Landing is an awesome place for a date night with delicious food, fun craft cocktails and a great beer selection with many local options it is also a great, comfy place for the whole family! Their kids' menu is really flexible with kids choosing a protein like grilled chicken, crispy fish or meatballs, a side including baked fries or mac and cheese, and a vegetable with choices like cucumbers or a green salad.
Our final mistake was not checking out Crow's Landing sooner. We both agreed that we had been missing out on this hidden gem, and we can't wait to go back with the whole family and to check out their weekend brunch too!
