Looking for some outdoor fun for the whole family? Look no further than South Shore Quests. Quests are clue-directed walks through local parks, woodlands and public places of historic interest. With a 2019 South Shore Quests book in hand, you will follow a series of clues leading you to a hidden box which contains a Quest notebook, rubber stamp and ink pad. There are many new quests this year ranging from Moswetuset Hummock in Quincy down to the Alden House in Duxbury and many more in between!
The South Shore Quest booklet ($5) is available at the New England Wildlife Center, Weymouth, the Hingham Public Library, the South Shore Natural Science Center, Norwell, Holly Hill Farm and Buttonwood Books, Cohasset, the Ventress Memorial Library and the North River Audubon, Marshfield.
Quests encourage observation, following directions and exploration of diverse places. Some quests have a fairy theme for those looking for a bit of fantasy. Quest hikes vary in length, trail difficulty and complexity of finding the clues. Most Quests take about 45 minutes to complete; some take longer. The 2019 Quest book contains 15 Quests in many South Shore communities including Quincy, Weymouth, Braintree, Hingham, Cohasset, Scituate, Norwell, Duxbury, and Marshfield.
