This is an outdoor class so unfortunately we do not meet when it rains. Please bring a blanket of sorts for the grass!

WHO/participates: ALL are welcome!! This summer we had a range of babies through early school age. My two girls who attend are almost 2 and 9 months. WHO/runs&teaches: I am Caitlin, a Marshfield Mum of three with a love of music! I am a local Real Estate agent who with my musician husband also owns a production company and recording studio. I wanted a fun and safe way to begin to expose my youngest two girls to music and equally important, other kids! I decided to put together an outdoor class and reached out to our amazing teacher Danielle to lead our kids each week. Danielle was a music teacher at South Shore Charter School for 6 years. She has worked in the music industry for over 20 years and has been a music educator in public and private settings including providing in-home services to children! WHAT: Music & Movement! Early childhood music and movement class incorporates a variety of songs and dance to improve your child's daily living skills. We are a semi structured yet fun loving learning environment. The children will be guided to express themselves while being taught social skills, gross motor skills, and behavioral management strategies. Music and movement class also has a large impact on developing your child's reading capabilities by exposing them to different aspects of phonics and phonemic awareness. This class gives your child a creative experience which involves educational skills and expression of emotion while having lots of fun!! In short we hang out outside, sing songs, dance, and play!!! Where: Our classes are held OUTSIDE on the lawn at The Daniel Webster Estate & Heritage Center 238 Webster Street in Marshfield WHEN: Thursdays at 10 AM (9/9-10/14) WHY: For an opportunity for our little ones to get outside, enjoy music, learn, and socialize. For caretakers to meet other caretakers! HOW: Just show up! You can come to all or just one class. We are operating on a drop in basis to keep this as minimal of a commitment for people as possible. We would LOVE to have everyone try and come each and every week to help develop relationships but life happens so if you can't make every week just come to the ones you can! ADDITIONAL INFO: What to bring: Feel free to bring a blanket, towel, yoga mat, etc to use on the grass. You are welcome to bring drinks/snacks just be sure to bring any trash with you when you leave. Weather: Given we are an outdoor class please plan accordingly for temperature. Light drizzle we will still have class. Rain we will not meet that week. If we need to cancel for something that is a non obvious weather reason a group email will go out. Cost: $10/family per class attended. Venmo prefered for ease of managing but cash given to me (Caitlin) the day of class is absolutely okay too. Venmo name is @CaitlinLeary1 (last 4 digits of phone number are 1203) After our expenses (like paying the music teacher) any access funds are donated to a charity that holds a special place in my heart which works to improve the quality of life of children with life threatening illness in and around Massachusetts, to support their families, and to mobilize the next generation of cancer activists. Lucy's Love Bus is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that helps children with cancer or other life threatening illnesses by providing free integrative therapies such as massage, meditation, acupuncture, music therapy, and therapeutic horseback riding.
