We are in the thick of the winter, and sometimes getting those kids outside to burn energy and play becomes a harder task than it was in the warmer months. While we love getting outside even in the colder months (hello winter gear!), here are some options of where to get those wiggles out when outside play is not an option!
1. Kids World @ South Shore Sports Center
Kids World is an open indoor play area where kids ages 1-6 can jump, play, build, and explore to their hearts’ content. They’ll love jumping in a bounce house, taking a ride on a kid coaster, or playing their way through the designated toy and game area.

The Inflatables Playground (best suited for ages 1 and up) is open at the Wolves Den and a part of Open Gym. Wolves Den is also a great place to host your kids birthday party!
Keep your kids entertained for hours with ginormous inflatable slides and climbing structures, basketball, volleyball and pickleball!

3. Storytime at Barnes and Noble (and more!)
Head to Barnes and Noble in Hingham every Friday for an interactive storytime and activity! While you are at Derby Street, grab some lunch at shake shack or clandestine kitchen inside of Untold Brewing and you have yourself a day!
In addition to storytime at Barnes and Noble, check the calendar at your local library! We have some great libraries on the South Shore with wonderful Children's Departments that host a variety of events!

There is nothing more New England than going ice skating in the winter! Rockland Ice rink offers open ice for your littles to learn or practice skating! Get out there with them or send them out there to figure it out on their own (might be what I do!). Bring your own skates! Don't have a pair? Check Family Sports Consignments in Rockland for a gently used, cheaper pair!

5. Classes at Over The Moon
Between specialty classes and week-long programs, Over The Moon offers a variety of adorable classes that are so fun for the littles! Saturday Sing-a-Longs, Little Art Explorers, Enrichment Toddler Classes and more; we love Over the Moon and all they have to offer!
