A Note From Your Publisher {8/6}

By Laurie Corbett, Publisher, Macaroni Kid South Shore Boston August 6, 2020

I snuck away earlier this week and spent two nights camping with my kids. If you follow me on Instagram you saw our adventure wet tent and all, but what you didn't see was that I struggled. I struggled to turn off my phone and disconnect with technology to connect with my kids. I knew I was struggling but some work stuff, school things, and life popped up and I let it pull me away from them. So, how did I handle it? I talked to them about it. I apologized for getting sucked in and we made a plan to camp again complete with their ideas on how I could do better next time. Why am I sharing this with you? Because our kids need to see that we aren't perfect and that we can acknowledge that we aren't perfect, and work to be better. We are all a work in progress whether we are 6 or 60 and in a world that values perfection its an important lesson for us all.
