A Note From Your Publisher {5/14}

It's a week of birthdays in our house with both of my daughters celebrating this week! It was strange and surreal to celebrate my oldest's 10th birthday at home. For some reason, it wasn't quite as odd when we celebrated my son's 6th birthday at home last month. I don't know if it is because another month alone has gone by, or if it is because she is much more visibly disappointed that life has changed but it was a strange day. She went to bed with a smile and a "that was a great day" but I couldn't quite shake the feeling that it just wasn't enough. Yes, we did donuts for breakfast, sushi for lunch, her teacher wished her a happy birthday on Zoom during their class call, and friends showered her with love during a birthday parade, but it didn't feel right for her first double-digit birthday. Today my middle will celebrate her birthday, and I'm curious to see how it will feel. I hope you had a good week, and if you are thinking ahead to a birthday or other celebration don't miss our 10 Ideas for Throwing a Great Virtual Party and 5 Ways to Celebrate Birthdays While Social Distancing articles for tips and ideas.
