The Academy of The Company Theatre (A.C.T.) is calling all creative children and teens to participate in their exciting and expansive three-week Summer Workshop. At the A.C.T. Summer Workshop, students choose their own schedule from over seventy classes in the performing and visual arts. These classes fulfill the school’s mission to spark creativity and build self-confidence in a challenging, supportive and fun environment.
Beginner and advanced students alike will find something that engages their inner artist/performer, whether they are looking to hone their skills with professional artist-educators or to take a chance and try something entirely new. A diverse selection of classes are offered, including acting, singing, media arts, painting, photography, dance, technical theatre, playwriting, stage combat, and culinary arts. Students will make new friends as they become a part of the vibrant community of an award-winning working theatre.
The 2020 A.C.T. Summer Workshop will run from Monday, June 22, to Friday, July 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each student will attend six classes a day, plus a daily noontime show where student work is showcased and special guest artists are featured. At the end of the program, there will be an Arts Festival Day on Saturday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to share student projects with families.
A.C.T. offers A.C.T. jr—a half-day program for kids ages 5-7. A.C.T. Summer Workshop is open to children and teens ages 8-18.
