Pirate Song

February 18th at 11 AM and 2 PM

Not content singing the pirate songs that have been passed down for generations, Paulette the Pirate, along with her dog Waffle, set off on a worldwide, musical journey searching for her own song. With an original book and music by Scott Test, Pirate Song showcases eight beautiful new songs that rival any Broadway musical and features a cast of hand-crafted puppets.

5-Hour Puppet Building Crash Course with Special Guest Instructor: David Manley from Up in Arms!

Feb. 19th from 10 AM to 3 PM

With the Up In Arms Lemming Puppet, students will create their own 14” mouth/rod puppet with permanent arm rods. Students will employ basic hand and machine sewing skills, fashion a basic mouth plate, use an X-Acto (razor), scissors, hot glue, and contact cement and complete their puppet with professional style eyes and fur/hair. This is a SKILLS workshop, not a craft. With hot glue, needles, scissors, and razors, the skill-set required for this workshop is teens through adults. Younger builders permitted on a per-case basis and may require adult accompaniment.

Puppetry 101 Workshop with Special Guest Instructor David Manley

Feb. 19th from 4 pm – 6 pm

Puppetry 101 is an introduction to performing mouth/rod puppetry. A one-hour or two-hour workshop can be presented depending on the age of the group. This workshop is perfect for theatre academy/ camp groups, after-school programs or the aspiring adult puppeteer. Puppet performance principles such as lip-sync, focus, rod control and movement are covered. Along with reinforcing important puppetry basics, the workshop exercises engage hand-eye coordination and problem-solving skills. Ages 12 and up!

Professor Wow’s Fun-Believable Science Show

February 20th at 11 AM and 2 PM

WOW! …but HOW? Students see Professor Wow’s zany, high-energy FUN-Believable Science Show℠ and experience the fantastic, 12-foot tall “Foam Monster,” the impossible “Balloons in Orbit,” the uproariously funny “ TP Wipe Out Challenge”, and the “Super-Colossal Vortex Cannon.” They learn that nothing is impossible—as long as it obeys the laws of science!

Alexander Technique Workshop (Ages 8-12) with Katherine Beckvold

Thursday, February 20th from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM


What is the Alexander Technique? The Alexander technique is a gentle approach that aims to re-educate the mind and the body through a series of movements so the body uses muscles more efficiently and has less tension. As good posture is a major component of healthy, supported use of the voice, this workshop is beneficial to actors and singers.

In his two hour workshop, voice students will find an inner balance and a sense of ease in the voice. Possible benefits include reduction of anxiety, feeling more energized, less pain and tension, listening and interacting with those around you, being more present, and more.
