The Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra in partnership with the Emilson YMCA in Hanover will present free outdoor music events featuring the Plymouth Philharmonic’s Cabaret Orchestra on Wednesday, July 10th and the Phil’s brass quintet on Wednesday, July 31st at Laura’s Center for the Arts’ outdoor amphitheater.
“We are so excited to return to Laura’s Center for the Arts this summer and share more great, engaging music that’s fun for all ages,” says the Phil’s Executive Director Kim Corben. “Audiences enjoy a glimpse of our musicians and their unique talents and personalities, plus there’s something magical about the combination of live music and summer breezes!
The summer music series is a collaborative partnership between the Phil and the Emilson YMCA. The series kicks off July 10th as Phil Conductor Steven Karidoyanes leads the Phil’s Cabaret Orchestra in a family-friendly concert featuring Irving Berlin, Dance of the Comedians from The Bartered Bride, Can-Can from Orpheus in the Underworld, television favorites from The Simpsons, The Incredibles, and more!
The series continues with a performance Wednesday, July 31st by the Phil Brass Quintet.
South Shore YMCA’s Laura’s Center for the Arts is located at 97 Mill Street, Hanover, MA. Concerts are general seating with areas for concert goers to place lawn chairs or blankets. Guests may bring food and beverages of their choice. Nona’s Ice Cream Truck will provide ice cream for purchase. The lawn opens at 6 PM and the concerts are from 6:30-7:30 PM. In the event of rain, concerts will be inside the Center, which is fully accessible.
