Library Playground - Cohasset

South Shore Playground Review

By Laurie Corbett, Publisher, Macaroni Kid South Shore Boston April 25, 2019

I can't believe we haven't shared a full review of the library playground in Cohasset! According to the Cohasset Recreation Department, this large, fun playground doesn't have an official name but it sits across the parking lots from the Cohasset Recreation Department at 100 Sohier Street and behind the Paul Pratt Memorial Library so we have always referred to it as Cohasset Library Playground. The playground was formerly known as Our World Playground before the Our World Children's Global Discovery Museum closed several years ago.

The entire playground is fenced in and has a gate that latches - my favorite playground feature. There is a large climbing structure with stairs, a rope ladder, rock wall, lots of monkey bars and a twisty slide as well as a small climbing structure for younger children with a ramp, small rock wall, and smaller slides. There are lots of swings including infant swings, and a small sandbox as well. The ground cover at this playground is wood chips.

There is plenty of parking in the lot and restrooms inside the library during library hours. There are also several picnic tables outside the fenced in area for picnics and some benches inside the fence for snacks, sneaker tying, etc. There's even a table with a checkboard on it!
