Voice, acting, movement and music training available to local youth and adults!

The Academy of the Company Theatre (A.C.T.) today announced open registration for winter/spring youth and adult performing arts classes. A.C.T. small group courses run from January 24 through May 23, with breaks during school vacation. Courses are held at The Company Theatre Center for Performing Arts, 30 Accord Park Drive, Norwell.

Open to aspiring actors of all ages and stages of theatrical development, the A.C.T. curriculum fosters self-expression and aptitude in performing arts in a creative and safe environment. As part of a working theatre, A.C.T. offers students opportunities to perform and be part of a vibrant and active theatrical community. According to Melissa Carubia, Director of Education at The Company Theatre, “Our goal at the Academy is to inspire kids and adults to share their talents through acting, song and dance. While not all participants in our programs will contribute to one of our productions, what’s learned in our classes extends far from our stage. We’re not only training students techniques in the performing arts, we’re also building confidence and self- awareness that can be utilized in school, at work and throughout life.”

The winter/spring course catalogue includes nearly two dozen classes in musical theatre, acting, dance and vocal performance. Private instruction in voice, acting, and dance is also offered. A broad range of other courses are offered, including stage combat, guitar basics, improv, dialect coaching, and more.
