The Adventures of Benjamin Franklin

The James Library and Center for the Arts, Norwell’s historic community arts center and lending library, presents a family friendly performance of The Adventures of Benjamin Franklin with actor J.T. Turner on Sunday, January 22, 3 pm at First Parish of Norwell’s Parish Hall, 24 River Street, Norwell. The event is sponsored by the Estelle Mosher Memorial Fund, Norwell Historical Society, and in part by grants from the Hanover and Scituate Cultural Councils. 


Printer, scientist, inventor, author, ambassador, and patriot, Benjamin Franklin has been called “the First American”. His rich and colorful life is recounted in this wonderful one-man show by professional actor J.T. Turner. Meet and listen as one of the world’s greatest statesmen and authors tells a tale weaving history and humor.

J.T. Turner is an award-winning professional actor, director and writer, with credits on stage, screen and audio. A member of SAG-AFTRA and Actors Equity, Turner is also a historical re-enactor, touring theaters, museums, schools, libraries and churches in original shows. He is the founder and director of Moonlight Productions, a theater company dedicated to using theater as an outreach tool for children and teens, and Artistic Director of The Actors Company, a performing group that works with non-profits. Turner is also a professional lecturer, fight choreographer, circus ringmaster, and acting and public speaking coach.


A limited number of free tickets are available to seniors (65+), courtesy of the Cordelia Family Foundations. Tickets to The Adventures of Benjamin Franklin are $18 for adults, $10 for students.
