Hartsuff Park Playground

Rockland, MA

{Updated 4/19/17}

There is a brand-new playground in Rockland! Thanks to the amazing efforts of Yokahama Tire Company, KaBOOM!, Sullivan Tire Company, Play Areas for Rockland Kids and the Town of Rockland there is a new, community-built playground at Hartsuff Park in Rockland.

The playground is located within Hartsuff Park which can be accessed by Hingham Street (watch for the blue sign on the west side of Hingham Street) or Hartsuff Street. Parking and access is much easier from Hingham Street. The playground and parking are not visible from the street so keep driving and the road opens up to the parking lot. The playground is barely visible from the parking lot through the trees but a quick walk down the path and you arrive at the playground in the woods.

The playground itself has areas for kids age 2 - 12 with a separate toddler structure, baby swings, and a large jungle gym for older kids. The playground is in full sun most of the day making it hot on sunny, summer days, but there are a number of picnic tables next to the playground most with shade. Two of the picnic tables also have checkerboard tops so bring some game pieces for a nice break from running around.

There is a full swing set, and buddy benches will soon be added to the playground thanks to the generous donation of local businesses including Norwell Pediatric Dentistry and Dan Driscoll Masonry & Chimney Service. The playground is not fenced in, but it is far away from any roads and quite a distance from the parking lot. There is a frog pond across from the playground, near the picnic tables, so if you have younger children just be aware.

Hartsuff Park also houses bathrooms which are opening during the week in the summer, a 9 hole disc golf course, a swimming pond for Rockland residents in season, a little lending library and lots of hiking trails.
