Brave & Strong Thanks to My Gym in Norwell!

Over Thanksgiving break my middle Macaroni Kid and I went on a hike with my mom. I didn't realize at the time that the hike was on the edge of a waterfall and involved lots of rocky spots and one very long, steep staircase. As recently as this summer my daughter would have taken one look at that staircase and had a meltdown. She doesn't handle new situations and experiences well despite her fiercely independent nature.

As we approached the staircase I saw her hesitate. I could see the height and steepness of the staircase stop her in her tracks. I quickly reminded her of all of the amazing things she has done recently at My Gym where she has been strong, brave and self-reliant as she climbs ladders to the ceiling, swings upside down from bars, and zips across the gym on a zipline! A grin spread across her face, she walked up to the staircase, turned around and decended it like a ladder. We continued our hike across a narrow bridge over a deep ravine, found a Geocache hiding in a rocky ledge, and returned to the car back up the staircase. The entire time she talked about how brave and strong she is while grinning from ear to ear.

From her first day in September she has loved everything about My Gym, and talks about it to anyone who will listen. I have seen her blossom from a hesitant three year old to one that can literally climb mountains. Her self-esteem, confidence and perseverance have grown by leaps and bounds thanks to the amazing staff, and curriculum, of the Mighty Mites class at My Gym in Norwell.

My Gym offers classes for kids from 6 weeks to 10 years at 400 Washington Street in Norwell. They also offer amazing birthday parties, Parents Night Out, 3-Hour Fun Days and more!
