South Shore Chiefs - the South Shore's Own Semi-Pro Football Team!

By Steve Santacroce, Owner/Founder - South Shore Chiefs January 22, 2015
Did you know the South Shore has their very own Semi-Pro Football Team?! The South Shore Chiefs are a Semi-Professional Football Team located right here on the South Shore, and are a member of the New England Football League. The league is the largest semi-pro league in the country, and is comprised of over 40 teams from 6 states. As a 100% volunteer organization Chiefs players play a 10-game schedule for the true love of the game. Home games are played at Hanover High School and the regular season runs from the 3rd Saturday in July right through the end of September.

Since our inception, in 2012, the Chiefs have been dedicated to community service and supporting youth sports, along with other youth activities. The Chiefs recently partnered with the South Shore Children's Museum and look forward to being an active part of their mission. As a team, we routinely collect non-perishables from our players and staff to donate to the local food pantry. This May the Chiefs will also be initiating "The South Shore Chiefs ~ Kevin R. Graden Memorial Scholarship". This annual scholarship will be awarded to (2) deserving student-athletes (one from Hanover High School, and one from Norwell High School.) Each recipient will be awarded a check in the amount of $1,000.00.

Our goal for the 2015 season is to continue to build our fan-base through consistent community service. Keep an eye out for our "free youth football camps" this spring, and please come out and catch one of our home games this summer! Our games are a great family-friendly event for all of the football lovers in your family with tickets just $5 a person and kids under 12 are free! The South Shore Chiefs are proud to represent the South Shore as their own Semi-Pro Football Team! Connect with us on Facebook and check out our website at www.south-shore-chiefs.com.
