Red Jacket Beach Resort

Our family's experience

By Laurie Corbett, Publisher Mom, South Shore Boston June 27, 2013
My family had the honor of being guests of the Red Jacket Beach Resort this past weekend during Yarmouth's Summer Celebration Kick-Off event, and I couldn't wait to share our experience with you. Click here to read about our experience at the Summer Celebration Kick-Off event.

The resort is tucked away on the end of peninsula, off of South Shore Drive, in Yarmouth. When we arrived a little before check-in time I was pleasantly surprised that my room was ready, and I was able to check in early! The front desk staff was wonderfully friendly, and gave me clear direction on how to get to our room. All of the rooms at the resort open up to the outside with decks, and many of them have beautiful views of the ocean, or river. Our ocean view room was on the corner of the building with both a beautiful view of the ocean, and easy access to the beach and pools. We visited both the outdoor pool area with it's regular sized pool and zero entry wading pool, and the beach during our stay. Our entire family enjoyed both thoroughly! My young daughters particularly liked the dolphins spraying water in to the pool, and the wading pool for the independence it allowed them. The view from our porch was unrivaled, and I could have sat there for hours just watching the water.

There are an almost endless number different styles of rooms, and accommodations, at the resort. From standard hotel rooms to suites and cottages there is truly something for every family, and every type of traveler.  The Red Jacket Beach Resort is just one of five Red Jacket resorts on the Cape, and is a full-service resort and spa, with plenty of amenities! It boast an indoor and two outdoor pools (all heated), a private beach, spa, full service restaurant and a lounge. We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast at the resort on Monday morning, and everyone cleaned their plates! They also offer cribs, and portable cribs for an additional fee if you have little ones traveling with you. If you can't leave home without your favorite 4-legged family-member they even have some pet-friendly rooms.

In addition to the amenities there are tons of activities that occur right at the resort! You can rent jet skis and kayaks, go para-sailing, or participate in a variety of daily activities right on the resort property. There is also a 'Kids Klub' where the kids can enjoy supervised activities while mom and dad get a little quiet time! While we were there they offered morning yoga on the beach, a magic show and a 'dive-in' movie in the indoor pool! You could enjoy a week long vacation, full of activities, and never leave the resort! The thing I noticed most about the resort however was how pleasant the entire staff was during our stay. Everyone said hello, asked how we were as we passed them on the grounds, and made sure we had whatever we needed as we went about our day. They truly appeared to enjoy their jobs, and made the entire experience that much more enjoyable. The hospitality part of the hospitality business has been lacking in recent years, but it is the forefront of the Red Jacket Resort experience, and it shows!
