5 Ways To Beat The Heat!

Stay cool all summer long!

By Christina Skeldon July 20, 2022

It is hot out there and while I am all about embracing summer, sometimes I need to find something to do with the kids that doesn't have me sweating 5 minutes in! Here are some fun ways to beat the heat during this hot weather!

1. Head to a local splash pad!

Did you know that the Boys and Girls Club in Marshfield has a splash pad and pool open to the public from 4-6 on weekdays and 12-6 on Saturday and Sunday. For only $5 a person, it is so fun for the whole family and a great way to cool off! Make sure you sign up here before you head over.

2. Ice cream makes everything better!

We have some amazing ice cream shops here on the South Shore and I think this heat wave is the perfect time to take advantage of one (or all) of them! Some of our favorite's are Nona's, B's, Sunshine Sundaes, Dairy Twist and Lil' Dukes!

3. Head to Hull for the arcade and Paragon Carousel!

Nantasket Beach is not only for warm, sunny days! Head to Hull to check out their awesome arcade and keep the kids happy (and cool) during this heatwave! Head on over to the Paragon Carousel for a fun ride or two while you are there!

4. Sign up for Kids Bowl Free!

Did you know that kids under 18 are eligible to bowl 2 free games every day at Boston Bowl right here in Hanover? Just sign up here and get your free bowling coupons sent directly to your email!

5. Take advantage of your local library!

We have so many great libraries on the South Shore, all with great children's rooms and programming. Head to your local library or check out a new one! The Mac Kid event calendar has all of the South Shore libraries programming right there for you to easily check out!

Stay cool, friends! It's a hot one out there!!!
