Last week, I told you all about James' 2nd birthday party at South Shore Sports Center, hands down the best birthday party we have ever thrown! Today, I give you an inside look at what took his birthday party from fun to WOW! I have always prided myself in hosting and am a true believer that the little details make a big difference. At the top of that list, is the birthday cake! The birthday cake is so much more than just cake: it often acts as a center of decoration, loved ones gather around to sing Happy Birthday to the special birthday boy or girl, and most importantly, it is the sweet treat that everyone looks forward to at the end of a party. In other words, it is pretty important.
I reached out to Kate from Kate's Creations Scituate when I found her on Instagram and was immediately interested based on all of her amazing work she posts! I told her about our theme: Blippi (where my Blippi parents at?!) and she had a bunch of great ideas. We landed on the best design and chose funfetti with strawberry frosting. Here is the thing you can't see in the pictures: this cake was the best cake I have ever tasted in my life. Everyone would not stop talking about it and people were actually asking if they could take some home! I begrudgingly obliged even though I wanted all of it to myself! I mean... for my kids. And of course, of equal importance at any birthday party: balloons! My kids are obsessed with balloons so I knew that a fun balloon display was going to make this party super exciting for James. I reached out to Meghan of Keogh Kreations and told her the theme of our party. Since she is a mom of young kids, she knew exactly what we needed to make this the best Blippi party yet!
