Apple Picking: South Shore & Beyond

It is prime apple picking season!

By Christina Skeldon September 21, 2021

Now is the time for you to pack up the family and head to an apple orchard. There are apples to be picked, pies to be made and so much fun for the family to be had! Here is a list of our favorite places to visit:

1. C.N. Smith Farm, East Bridgewater

This is where we typically go every year! I would definitely suggest baby wearing if you have a little one instead of bringing a stroller. The farm store has great seasonal treats and the apple cider donuts are so, so good.

2. The Big Apple Farm, Wrentham

Open on weekends from 9-5, you can either drive your car to the apple picking site or purchase a wagon ride ticket to enjoy a scenic ride to and from the apple picking site! Don't forget, cash or check only.

3. Honey Pot Hill Orchards, Stow

This is the best place and definitely worth the trip in my opinion! Open daily from 9-5, they offer pick your own, hayrides, farm animals, and even a hard cider tent for mom and dad!

4. Lookout Farm, Natick

Unfortunately, the train and play area of farm are closed for the year which was what made it so fun for the kids! They do have an outdoor restaurant and taproom so it is easy to make a full day out of this one!

5. Mounce Farm, Marshfield

South Shore's very own apple picking orchard! This one is a little tricky to find and does not have all the frills of the orchards listed above, but it is practically in our backyard which always makes it at the top of my list! Open to the public on weekends only, you can find the entrance to Mounce Farm at 481 Union Street in Marshfield and follow the apple signs!
