June is such a big month. For most of us, it is the time when school is ending and Summer officially arrives on the South Shore. And we are six months into the year already! How did that happen?!?
After an unexpectedly chilly Memorial Day weekend, we have plenty of ideas for your family to mark the change in the season and soak up the sun with great outdoor events on the South Shore! Here is a list of eight (8) outdoor family friendly events happening this week.
Picnic Storytime at the Duxbury Free Library
Tuesdays 11AM to 11:30AM

Bring a chair or a blanket, pack your sunscreen, and join the Duxbury Free Library on the side lawn for story time outside! Enjoy songs, stories, and bubbles with our youth services staff. Feel free to pack a lunch or snack. No registration required. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Best for ages 2 and up. The the event of extreme weather, (rain or dangerous heat), this program will be cancelled.
Preschool Coastal Explorers at Worlds End
Tuesdays 11AM to 12PM

Young explorers are invited with their caregiver to search for signs of spring at World’s End! Youngsters will visit the shoreline in search of mollusks, periwinkles, seaweed and smooth stones. A parking reservation is included with registration.
Food Truck Nights at Forge Pond Park and Griffin Dairy Farm
Tuesdays and Thursdays 4pm to 7pm at Forge Pond Park in Hanover (245 King St, Hanover, MA 02339)
Wednesdays 4pm to 7pm at Town Hall / Reilly Field in Abington (500 Gliniewicz Way, Abington, MA 02351)

Movies Under the Stars at the Duxbury Free Library

Come to the library and enjoy a movie on the side lawn. Feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chairs. The movie starts at 8 pm. Social distancing is encouraged.

Pre-K Storytime at Dalby Farm

Join Dalby Farm on Thursday mornings starting June 3rd at 10:00 a.m., for “Pre-K Story Time*. There will be two 4-week sessions that you can choose from, that are perfect for the toddler in your life! If you choose to attend both sessions, you won’t have to worry about repeated material because there will be eight different stories highlighting eight different rare farm breeds that live at Dalby Farm.
