My daughter is 8 and for at least the last two years, she’s been a whiz at teaching her grandmother how to use her smartphone, how to work our smart TV, and basically give any other type of electronics support. Devices are a part of many of our lives.

Now, there is a great new picture book by best-selling author and award-winning actress Jamie Lee Curtis that tells a relatable story about why we should put the phone down and connect with each other.

In Me, Myselfie, & I: A Cautionary Tale, the family buys their mom a new smartphone and are excited to teach her how to take selfies. At first, it's a lot of fun for the whole family, but soon, Mom begins to document everything. Then, her daughter reminds her that the best things happen while the smartphone is turned off.

Designed for kids age 4-8, many of us will find that we can relate to this touching and humorous story. So put down the phone, pick up a book, and enjoy some quality time with your family!
