Be Our Guest! Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Comes to Boston

By Wheelock Family Theatre January 4, 2018

In “this tale as old as time”, a selfish young prince has been transformed into a beast until he can find a way to make someone fall in love with him. Belle, a bright young woman who is misunderstood by her fellow townspeople, longs for escape. When the two of them are thrown together by harrowing circumstance, a panoply of fantastical characters plot to help lift the curse and lead the Beauty, the Beast, and the audience to a fairy tale ending.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will illuminate the stage at Wheelock Family Theatre beginning February 2, 2018 and running through March 4, 2018.

Performances are Fridays at 7:30pm (except 2/23) and Saturday and Sunday at 2pm and special matinees at 1pm during the February school vacation week (February 20, 21, 22 and 23). Tickets range from $20.00 to $38.00 with group discounts available. Visit wheelockfamilytheatre.org for the complete performance schedule. Tickets can be purchased online and by calling the box office at 617-879-2300. For group sales, please call Keith Orr at 617-879-2148.

Join the Beast, Belle, Gaston, Le Fou, Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, and their friends as they embark on a grand journey filled with adventure, cheer, and learning to love. Based on the Academy-Award winning animated feature, the stage version of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has enthralled Broadway audiences for over 14 years. Beauty and the Beast is by Linda Woolverton (book), Alan Menken (music), Howard Ashman, Tim Rice (lyrics) and is produced in agreement with Musical Theatre International. With the classic songs, “Be Our Guest,” “Something There,” and “Beauty and the Beast”, this will be a musical experience the whole family can share and enjoy.

Now approaching our 40th year, Wheelock Family Theatre has a longstanding tradition of producing theatre that all generations can experience together, of telling stories about families and communities all over the world, and of color-conscious casting. Wheelock Family Theatre’s 2017/2018 season continues with E.B. White’s Stuart Little (April 13 – May 13)

Wheelock Family Theatre is a professional affiliated with Actors Equity Association. In the cast of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, adult and youth actors share the stage.
