I love a good father/daughter date night. One that doesn't include princesses or spas is even better! So, when the Brockton Rox invited me to a game I couldn't wait to take them up on it!
Campanelli Stadium is next to Brockton High School, and around the corner from the Brockton Fairgrounds not far from Rt 24, and the Easton line. It is easy to drive to, and there is plenty of parking right next to the stadium. We picked up our tickets at the ticket booth and easily found our seats which were 10 rows back on the third base line. They were great seats! The stadium isn't huge and all of the seat provide great views of the field, and easy access to restrooms and concessions - both equally important when you have kids with you.
The game was great and the Rox beat the Martha's Vineyard Sharks in their first meet up of the season! K-O, the team mascot, was energetic and fun and posed for photos with lots of little fans - and some not so little fans too. There is even a Kid Zone complete with a bouncy house, and other games in case the kids need to burn off a little energy mid-game.
After the game we stayed for the fireworks which might have been the highlight of the night for my five year old daughter. It was a great way to spend some one-on-one time, but the whole family would have had a a great time! We were able to enjoy America's past-time without paying big league prices, and it was close to home on the South Shore. I would highly recommend the Brockton Rox as an adventure for any family who enjoys baseball, or for those just looking to get out of the house do something different this summer!
