Steve Spangler Science Review

November 20, 2014
There has bee a huge push recently to encourage STEM-based activities for kids of all ages. The STEM Education Coalition says science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education plays a critical role in how competitive the United States will be in the world and ties into our country's future economic prosperity. In addition, experiences are also huge for gift giving this year, and we recently check out a brand new subscription box that exposes kids to science in a fun way, and helps gets budding scientists ready for future STEM-based careers.

Steve Spangler, a teacher and author, has always been known for teaching science in fun and interactive ways (yes he is the guy behind the now famous Mentos Geyser Experiment) but now he has launched have an awesome Science Club that is delivered directly to your door each month complete with the tools needed to complete more than a dozen science experiments. Kids can follow step by step instructions which encourage open-ended thinking and learning activities. In addition there is a "Top Secret" adult section which explains the science behind the activities so adults can help extend the activity and encourage more learning around the topic.

The kit is designed for kids in grades K-6 and can be purchased as a single month, three month or twelve month subscription.

In addition to the new Science Club Steve Spangler Science carrier a huge variety of science products for kids and kits at heart! Our budding scientist had a great time playing with Steve Spangler's InstaSnow at our Toy Time Party! It is a really fun "WOW factor" way to introduce the scientific method, and get kids to ask questions, and experiment, to come up with the answers. It is also a really fun sensory experience!
