Hard Rock Cafe Boston's New Kids' Menu Gets 2 Thumbs Up!

Macaroni Kid Road Trip

This past Tuesday my family had the honor of being guests at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston to check out their newly launched Kid's Menu!

We love an excuse to take a trip into Boston, and a midweek lunch run to was super easy to make since the Hard Rock is right in the Faneuil Hall area not far from 93. We parked in the garage right behind the restaurant which was a little expensive, but they offer a discount at 75 State Street Garage around the corner, and are very easily accessible by public transportation.

The last time I had been in a Hard Rock Cafe was the mid-90s and I think it was in Washington DC. Needless to say I was excited to share the experience with my kids and check out their new Roxtars menu for kids! As a part of the new menu kids are given Roxtars themed activity books to play with while they wait. Instead of a single paper place mat and a few crayons this activity kit comes with an entire coloring book, stickers and crayons. The girls had a blast checking it out, decorating it (and their dad) with the stickers, and learning about all of the adorable Roxtars characters.

While playing they quickly decided on a hot dog and chicken fingers as their entrees, and both opted for fruit as their side. I love that they offered fruit, and seasonal vegetables as side options in addition to the traditional french fries and mashed potatoes. I was really impressed that the fruit was really fresh strawberries and oranges instead of the canned fruit you often find offered on kids' menus. The kids loved that their food came in very cool, guitar shaped plates, and my two year old spent much of lunch commenting on her guitar plate. I may have to take a trip back in just to buy her one from their gift shop for Christmas! I love that the new kids' menu not only offers traditional kids meals such as hot dogs, chicken tenders, cheeseburgers, pizza and fish sticks but also have an entire Kids Live Well section of the menu with offerings such as grilled chicken breast with broccoli, pasta and broccoli and a kid's salad with grilled chicken. All of the menu offerings have fun names that tie into their Roxtars characters and make ordering fun for kids.

My husband and I also had a great lunch! His chicken fajitas arrived at the table sizzling and smelled amazing. He said they didn't disappoint. I had a delicious chicken and ham sandwich and wasn't as good as the kids and opted for fries with it - they were delicious!

I also loved the decor! It was clean and simple, but fun and full of rock and roll style! My oldest had a great time checking out all of the memorabilia with her dad, and we all fell in love with the entire wall of cymbals. All of my kids are very into music, and the loved watching and listening to music videos on multiple TVs throughout the space while they ate lunch.

Given their location the Hard Rock Cafe would make the perfect place to pop-in for lunch or dinner if you are visiting the Aquarium, strolling through Faneuil Hall with visitors, or just want to get away for a night in the city with friends! It would also be a fun adventure to take the train in from the South Shore with your Macaroni Kids for lunch and adventuring.
