Corner Stop Eatery Hosting Event to Fight Hunger

On Monday October 20th The Corner Stop Eatery is donating 25% of all the evenings' proceeds to help fight hunger on the South Shore.

Thousands of South Shore residents depend on emergency food pantries to supply their families with groceries every month.  On Monday October 20th The Corner Stop Eatery is doing their part to help fight hunger on the South Shore. In solidarity with Interfaith Social Services’ Feed the Hungry Gala the Corner Stop is donating 25% of all the evenings' proceeds to help fight hunger, including proceeds from dine-in patrons, takeout orders and their bar.

“We are so grateful for The Corner Stop’s generosity,” said Interfaith’s executive director Rick Doane. “We hope that everyone will show The Corner Stop how much they want to prevent hunger here on the South Shore and flood their store with orders.”

Interfaith Social Services operates one of the largest emergency food programs in Greater Boston. Their annual Feed the Hungry Gala is required each year to raise the funding they need to feed over 18,000 hungry South Shore residents every year.

On the evening of October 20th collection boxes for Interfaith will also be on hand at The Corner Stop. Diners are encouraged to bring some nonperishable food items with them as well as new or gently costumes for Interfaith's Halloween costume drive to be distributed to the children served by their food pantry.

“Interfaith Social Services is an amazing group of talented individuals dedicated to a very noble cause,” said Corner Stop owner Ron Vale. “Being South Shore residents for the last twelve years we are thrilled to be able to play a part in this important endeavor.”

“The holidays are fast approaching and everyone is starting to get busy with commitments and events," said NECN's Ally Donnelly a Hingham resident and Interfaith’s Feed the Hungry Gala co-chair. "Having dinner with your family at the Corner Stop is a delicious way to spend time together while doing good for the community. My family and I are thrilled we can head out together on the 20th and with Monday Night Football and all those flat screens, what could be better? Remember, every dollar raised goes to feeding hungry kids. Who could ask for a better cause as we near the holiday season? Thank you Corner Stop!"
