UPDATED OCTOBER 2018
It has been a few years since we checked out the playground in Whitman Park and we thought it was about time we visited and updated our review. Not much has changed on this older playground and it has lots of choices for play opportunities fitting a wide range of ages. The day we visited kids from just barely toddling through middle school were enjoying the playground.
Located on the Whitman Avenue side of Whitman Park it is just off of the town center and behind Town Hall. There was plenty of street parking when we were there, but since there isn't a parking lot sometimes you have to park on the other side of the park and walk across.
There are tons of climbing structures, slides, swings, a zip-line, rock wall and more at Whitman Park Playground. Along with rubber paths for those with mobility issues. You can find shard under the trees, benches for breaks and picnic tables for lunch or a quick snack. Whitman Park is also a beautiful park with a gazebo, playing fields, a pond, and fountain. It is a great place to spend a few hours with a picnic lunch, but there aren't any bathroom facilities so plan accordingly.
The playground is not fenced in, and because of it appeals to kids of all ages it can be busy some days - perfect for meeting some new friends!
