When the samples arrived I immediately contacted Nicole at The Wellness Lab for some suggestions on making some natural cleaners to use on the bathroom. One of the great things about getting your essential oils from The Wellness Lab is the access to help, and suggestions, whenever you need them! Nicole immediately gave me a simple recipe that included some lemon essential oil, water and vinegar. I had previously tried cleaning with vinegar and I didn't realize you were suppose to dilute it with water - duh! No wonder my house use to smell like pickles!
I mixed up a batch and used it to clean my entire bathroom. It worked so well combined with a little baking soda on my tub that I knew I couldn't stop with the bathroom - and I am NOT a person who enjoys cleaning. I moved on to the kitchen and was beyond shocked with how easily it cut through the grease in my microwave! After that I was totally sold! Within days we had used up the all purpose cleaner so I decided to try out a new recipe. Nicole had also suggested a mix of lemon and peppermint essential oils for an all purpose cleaner, and I decided to try that combination but in a double batch this time. I couldn't believe that I loved it even more than the first batch! And now my picky husband stopped complaining about the vinegar smell because the peppermint definitely cut through the vinegar smell more than the lemon alone. The second batch is now running low and he's already reminding me that we need to make some more.
Since our first cleaning experiements we have also been using a little lemon essential oil in our water. My three year old loves it and is drinking way more water than she use to - always a plus in my book! She also requests a wash cloth with a drop of lavendar essential oil on it every night as she goes to sleep! It has definitely helped her relax in the evening, and sleep more soundly during the night.
The thing I love the most about the doTERRA essential oils we have been using is that there are so many different ways you can use them to support a healthy lifestyle, and home. I can't wait to try out some of their other products!
