Splash Pad is open Memorial Day - Labor Day from 10AM - 7PM

Braintree's new splash pad opened this past weekend and we couldn't wait to check it out! So, we headed over first thing Monday morning despite grey skies at our house, and were plesantly suprised that the sun was shining when we arrived at the park. There is a large parking lot before you get to the fields, playground and splash pad, but there is also street parking on one side of the street. If you have little ones bring a stroller in case you have to park in the lot.

The playground is your standard playground, but is nice, clean and well maintained. There are separate climbing structures for preschoolers and older children, and two sets of swing sets. There is also a nice sand box which, unlike many other playgrounds we have visited lately, actually had sand in it!

But the real draw is the NEW splash pad! This is the best, and biggest splash pad we have found in the area, and my girls (1 and 3) had an awesome time playing in it! There were also way more older kids at this splash pad than any other I have been to which may be due in part to the variety of sprinkers, and water, or just because the splash pad is brand new and everyone wants to check it out. My girls had no problem enjoying the water with the bigger kids around, and the older were all well behaved and monitored. It probably helps that there was a "lifeguard-esk" Braintree Parks staff member on site to help monitor things. There are a few benches inside the splash pad for parents, but a majority of them were sitting on the ground along the fence, and few brilliant parents brough camp chairs to use!

The only "bathroom" at the park is a portapotty over by the ball field so so plan ahead in terms of bathroom needs, and changing for the splash pad. There is also no food or beverages available, but we brought a picnic lunch and there were plenty of benches, shade and a few tables to eat at. Overall, we had a great time and we can't wait to go back!
