By Jen Piepenbrink, Assistant Publisher, Macaroni Kid South Shore Boston - Sponsored Advertising Content July 28, 2016
Some three miles of Hull's shoreline will light up at sunset this Saturday, July 30, as a thousand individual flares surrounding Hull Bay are lit for the annual Harbor Illumination, a spectacular tradition.  Check out our Facebook Page at Harbor Illumination 2016 Hull MA.

Hosted by the Hull Lifesaving Museum (HLM), this annual event will keep to tradition as flares are lit around the crescent of Hull Bay in remembrance of a special person or event. The Festival begins at three o-clock at the L-Street Field, (Nantasket Ave and L Street) with the Toe Jam Puppet Band kicking off the event.  The parking is open starting at 2:30 pm in the DCR lot on George Washington Boulevard and it is suggested that you arrive between 2:30-2:45 pm to catch one of the Shuttles in time for the Toe Jam performance.  The shuttles will be running continuously until 10 pm for all who attend the event.  The cost of the event is a suggested minimum of $5 per person and a max of $10 per family.

"While the Illumination creates an awe-inspiring moment of beauty and magic, many people travel to the event from other towns,"said Peter Wild, HLM's Executive Director. "To make the venue more compelling we have expanded our afternoon and evening events. This year, visitors will be able to enjoy live entertainment, activities for families, and be able to purchase food and artisan offerings as a prelude to the lighting ceremony." A new feature this year will be the addition of a Hospitality Tent sponsored by Harpoon Brewery offering beer and wine from 7:00 - 10:00 pm.
