"The Scoop" on Cream

1209 Bedford Street, Abington, MA 02351

They had me at Peanut Butter Oreo ice cream.

Local favorite Cream sits on Rt 18/Bedford Stret in Abington, and with it's red barn-like exterior it is easy to find. It's recently opened sister restaurant Cream Etc is getting rave reviews for their fresh, locally sourced fair, but their long line up of Richardson Ice Cream flavors, and specialty treats are equally deserving of praise.

With 42 flavors of hard ice cream, and a few soft serve, sherbet, sorbet option as well as seasonal flavors such as peach, and cranberry, there is something for everyone on their menu. Their specialty sundaes range from Peanut Butter After Dark (warm chocolate cake with a molten peanut butter center, vanilla ice cream, caramel, a peanut butter cookie and whipped cream) to Bamanana (banana ice cream, chocolate chips, nuts, caramel, whipped cream and a bruleed banana) and are truly decadent.

Not in a sundae mood? Don't fear! They also have delicious frappes, freezes, floats, flurries, ice cream pies and a Boston Cooler made with Vernor's ginger ale and vanilla ice cream!

There are a number of tables with umbrellas out front that are perfect for enjoying your treat, and a small patch of grass near the parking lots that could easy hold a picnic blanket or two. Traffic on Rt 18 is busy. There is just a wooden fence separating the seating area from the road but be sure to keep any eye on little ones.
